What is Create®?
Create® is the 24/7 TV channel featuring the best of public television’s how-to, travel and lifestyle shows. The channel showcases high-profile programs that are among the mostwatched content on public television. Create TV is available nationwide via digital broadcast and/or basic cable, courtesy of subscribing local public television stations. This is the only place where public television lifestyle programs have “common carriage” – which means viewers can find your program at the same time across the country when it is in the schedule. (Sometimes, a local station may insert a local show into the schedule; but, for the most part, stations observe the national schedule.) In addition, the channel has a companion website, www.CreateTV.com– where viewers can find more information about their favorite lifestyle programs, hosts and projects.

Create® is a free, digital television broadcast service provided by the majority of local public television stations. In addition, many of these stations offer Create through arrangements with their local cable operators such as Comcast, Time Warner and others. Create continues to remain public television’s most carried multicast channel, now in its sixth season. Create® is commercial-free public television.
All the programs you see on Create® TV are shows that must be cleared for broadcast on U.S. public television. They are not designed to air on commercial television, so the programs meet the rigorous editorial and funding requirements of public television – including no advertising. The most important feedback we receive from our viewers is that Create’s programs run uninterrupted without commercial breaks during the shows. Between programs, viewers will primarily only see promos and underwriting credits on Create. Key to the content is the interest in providing programming that is designed to be entertaining and educational. We take pride in the fact that each of the hosts has deep experience and is passionate about their interests.
